White Friday in Egypt: how to actually get the best price

Not every "70% off" is a deal. How to spot fake discounts, compare Amazon, Noon and Jumia properly, and stack every saving on one order.

White Friday in Egypt: how to actually get the best price

White Friday is the biggest sale season of the year in Egypt, and also the easiest time to overpay while feeling like you saved. Here's how to tell a real deal from a dressed-up one.

When it happens

  • Amazon.eg runs White Friday in late November, usually for about a week, with early access for Prime members.
  • Noon calls its version Yellow Friday, and Jumia runs Black Friday deals across most of November.
  • Black Friday itself is on 27 November this year, so expect the biggest drops in the days around it. Stores announce exact dates a few weeks ahead.

1. Know the price before the sale starts

The most common trick is raising the price in early November, then "discounting" it back to normal. The only defense is knowing what the item cost before.

Add what you want to your wishlist now and write down today's price. When the sale starts, compare against your number, not against the crossed-out price on the page.

2. Compare the exact same product

  • Match the full model number, not just the name. A phone with 128GB and one with 256GB are different prices for a reason.
  • Check the warranty. A local warranty is worth more than an international version that's 300 pounds cheaper.
  • Look at who sells it. "Sold by Amazon", "Fulfilled by Noon" and "Jumia Express" items are easier to return than third-party sellers.

3. Stack every discount you can

One order can often combine several savings:

  • The sale price itself.
  • A store coupon, like the clip-on coupons on Amazon product pages.
  • A promo code entered at checkout.
  • A bank offer: many banks give an extra discount or interest-free installments with their cards during the sale. Check the offers section on the product or payment page.
  • Cashback, if you open the store through Waffrlly before you buy.

4. Read the fine print before you pay

  • Shipping fees can wipe out a small discount. Check the minimum order for free delivery.
  • Some categories can't be returned, or have a shorter return window during sales.
  • Promo codes often have a minimum basket, a maximum discount cap, or exclude certain brands.

5. Be ready for flash deals

Limited-time deals sell out in minutes. Before the sale, log in on the app and the website, save your address, and save your payment card so checkout takes seconds.

Quick checklist

  • Wishlist ready, with the October price written next to each item.
  • Same model, same storage, same warranty when comparing stores.
  • Coupon, promo code and bank offer checked.
  • Shipping and return policy read.
  • Store opened through Waffrlly first.

Check Waffrlly before every White Friday order for working codes and cashback on Amazon, Noon, Jumia and more.
